Cardiovascular Research Institute (CVRI)
Description
The Cardiovascular Research Institute (CVRI) brings together more than 70 investigators across Texas A&M University and the Texas A&M Health Science Center to advance collaborative research, education, and training in cardiovascular science. Its mission is to discover and disseminate new knowledge about the heart, blood vessels, and lymphatic system in both health and disease through a multidisciplinary team of basic scientists and physician-scientists. CVRI supports a broad range of research areas—including angiogenesis, exercise biology, heart failure, atherosclerosis, hypertension, diabetes, and ischemic heart disease—funded by major agencies such as the NIH, NSF, and the American Heart Association. The institute also provides training opportunities for students and trainees at all levels, fostering an environment that strengthens cardiovascular research across campuses in College Station, Dallas, and Houston.
