Description
NERRTC was established in 1998 by congressional mandate, following the bombing of the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, to enhance the capabilities of emergency responders and local officials to prepare for, mitigate against, respond to, and recover from catastrophic disasters resulting from natural events, man-made accidents, or intentional attacks. The Center is a major training partner of DHS/FEMA and is a founding member of the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium (NDPC), providing local, state, tribal and territorial jurisdictions with high-quality, hands on, scenario driven training. NERRTC’s training focuses on Critical Infrastructure Protection, Emergency Preparedness for Community Leaders, Incident Management, Emergency Preparedness for Health and Medical Services, Cybersecurity, and Operational Response Capabilities.
